There are many other options in Canmore, such as Best Western, Holiday Inn, and even a hostel. Websites like Trivago and Expedia will help you find the best deal. Services like AirBnB and HomeAway can help you find cheap accommodations for a longer stay or a larger group. Keep an eye out for specials available directly through hotel websites, such as secret codes and Alberta Residents’ deals.

Crazyweed Kitchen

This rustic chalet-style restaurant is our favourite for a nice sit-down dinner. Crazyweed has gorgeous mountain views, an upcale ambience, and plenty of innovative dishes. They were even featured on The Food Network's show, "You Gotta Eat Here!". Check out their website or get directions.

Communitea Cafe

In addition to a rainbow wall of tea varieties, Communitea offers fresh, healthy food made with organic local ingredients. We recommend the Nori Wraps, the Protein Power Bowl, the Mountain Veggie Wrap, and the Chicken, Pesto, Kale, and Goat Cheese Quesadilla! Check out their website or get directions.

Grizzly Paw Brewing Co.

Inside the brewery is our favourite place to recover after a long hike - the Grizzly Paw Restaurant. They serve authentic Canadian cuisine and handcrafted beer in a very chill environment. Get a table on the patio! We love the Elk Burger, Pub Nachos, and Grizzly Greens. As for beer, we recommend the Raspberry Ale. Check out their website or get directions. A similar option in Banff is the Banff Ave Brewing Co.

Rocky Mountain Companies

We love two different restaurants with very similar names! First is the Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. - we can’t count how many times we’ve eaten here. Fresh homemade bagels, the best local coffee, and a warm inviting atmosphere. Our favourites include the jalapeno cheddar bagel (Dave), pretty much any dessert (Alexa), the pizza bagel, and the Power Ball. Visit their website. The Range

The Range specializes in artisanal sandwiches heaped with oven-roasted meat, innovative toppings, and housemade sauces. They also have daily seasonal specials and some great vegetarian options. Try the Classic Porchetta sandwich and the Quinoa salad! Check out their website or get directions.

Wild Flour Bakery

Located in Banff, Wild Flour is an amazing artisan bakery and café. Don’t miss the focaccia, fresh pastries, and homemade granola with blueberry compote. Check out their website or get directions.

Canmore

There are lots of walking trails and boardwalks within Canmore and along the river. Try the Smith-Dorian Trail for a beautiful scenic drive. It's a gravel road that wanders through the mountains, past Spray Lakes, and brings you into Kananaskis Provincial Park. Beat up those rental cars while you have them and try to catch a glimpse of some wildlife! Banff

Banff, a short drive from Canmore, is full of great activities. You'll need a Park Pass to enter Banff National Park, but they're free in 2017! Keep an eye on this page for more information. Head to Banff for some great shopping and dining or to enjoy a gondola ride up the mountain. Check out the upper hot springs if you want to take a dip with a spectacular view. There are plenty of hiking attractions like Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain, Johnston Canyon, and Lake Minnewanka.

Lake Louise

Lake Louise is the classic photo opportunity and we definitely recommend going to see it. There is a variety of trails to hike or walk, or you can rent a canoe! There's another lake in the area that's equally as picturesque: Moraine Lake. You could also keep driving past Lake Louise on the highway and head up the Icefields Parkway, which will eventually take you to Jasper (3 hours from Lake Louise, 4 hours from Canmore). This is one of the most beautiful scenic drives with points of interest like Peyto Lake, the Columbia Icefields, and Athabasca Falls.
